On December 19, 2017, Christians of The Church of Almighty God organized a distinctive friendship gathering and invited staff and volunteers from the Il giardino degli aromi organization, Zona 8 Solidale association and Naga organization as well as local human rights lawyers to attend, with approximately 60 people there. During the event, Christians of The Church of Almighty God not only showed video recordings and photos taken as mementos of them participating in a variety of human rights events, religious events and charity events, but also performed wonderful songs and dance performances for the participants. Their sincerity and faith won praisefrom the distinguished guests and attracted attention and praise from local people and some organizations. This event raised awareness among participants about The Church of Almighty God and enhanced friendships between them.
On January 4, 2018, according to the U.S. State Department, pursuant to the 1998 International Religious Freedom Act, China is re-designated as a "Country of Particular Concern." This is the nineteenth consecutive year that China is included in the "Country of Particular Concern" list. At the same time, when the freedom of religious belief in China draws great attention of the U.S. government, the asylum applications of many Christians of The Church of Almighty God who had been persecuted by the CCP, and who had fled abroad to South Korea and European countries, are denied again and again. These governments even issued orders for their deportation and had their Alien Registration Cards withdrawn. From December 7 to 9, 2017, the first Mondoreligioni - Incontriamo le Religioni del Mondo (Meet the World Religions), an activity of religious and cultural exchange, was held in Rome's Città dell'Altra Economia, jointly organized by the Associazione Italiana di Sociologia (Italian Sociology Association), the magazine Confronti, and EPOS. The event was focused on furthering cultural exchanges between various religions in Italy, increasing mutual understanding and respect, and promoting social stability and progress. Catholic, Christian, Muslim, and other religious groups attended this event along with representatives from Italian academia, news outlets, and local students. On February 18, 2018, precisely during a traditional Chinese holiday—Spring Festival—Christians from the Church of Almighty God in France held a New Year’s celebration with the theme of “gratitude” in the parish activity center of the Saint-Germain Church in Vitry-sur-Seine, Paris. This was the first local New Year’s event hosted by these Christians since being forced to flee to France after suffering brutal oppression by the Chinese government. They wanted to use this opportunity to extend their thanks to their French friends who had helped them and shown their concern.
