What Does “Pray Without Ceasing” Mean? What Is the Significance of It?

By Li Chen

1. What does praying without ceasing refer to?

Regarding the apostle Paul’s words “pray without ceasing” (1 Thessalonians 5:17), many people interpret them as constantly speaking to God and consider it a very difficult thing to accomplish. In fact, praying without ceasing is not some sort of outward ritual. Instead, it refers to us Christians honoring God as great, relying on and looking to God, communicating with God in our spirits and living before God at all times. Praying without ceasing does not hold to a certain format, nor is it limited to a fixed time or place. Regardless of whether we are free or busy, strong or weak, whether our environment is comfortable or harsh, whether we have difficulties or not, or whether we have made transgressions or not, we can pray to God and communicate with Him. Even when our hands are busy doing something, we can still pray to God in our hearts. Whether we are sitting on the bus, working, or preaching, we can always pray to God, draw close to Him with heart, and quiet our hearts before the Lord. In short, we can practice praying at any time and any place.

God's words | When You See the Spiritual Body of Jesus Will Be When God Has Made Anew Heaven and Earth (Excerpt 1)

Almighty God says, "Those who did not know the Messiah were all capable of opposing Jesus, of rejecting Jesus, of slandering Him. People who do not understand Jesus are all capable of denying Him, and reviling Him. Moreover, they are capable of seeing the return of Jesus as the deceit of Satan, and more people shall condemn Jesus returned to flesh. Does not all of this make you afraid? What you face shall be blasphemy against the Holy Spirit, the ruination of the words of the Holy Spirit to the churches, and the spurning of all that is expressed by Jesus. What can you gain from Jesus if you are so befuddled? How can you understand the work of Jesus when He returns to flesh on a white cloud, if you obstinately refuse to realize your errors? I tell you this: People who do not accept the truth, yet blindly await the arrival of Jesus upon white clouds, will surely blaspheme against the Holy Spirit, and they are the category that shall be destroyed" (The Word Appears in the Flesh).

The Word of God | "Corrupt Mankind Is More in Need of the Salvation of God Become Flesh" (Part One)

Almighty God says, "God became flesh because the object of His work is not the spirit of Satan, or any incorporeal thing, but man, who is of the flesh and has been corrupted by Satan. It is precisely because the flesh of man has been corrupted that God has made fleshly man the object of His work; moreover, because man is the object of corruption, He has made man the only object of His work throughout all the stages of His salvation work. Man is a mortal being, is of flesh and blood, and God is the only One who can save man. In this way, God must become a flesh that possesses the same attributes as man in order to do His work, so that His work might achieve better effects. God must become flesh to do His work precisely because man is of the flesh, and incapable of overcoming sin or divesting himself of the flesh" (The Word Appears in the Flesh).

God's Utterance | "God Himself, the Unique (V) God's Holiness (II)" (Part Two)

Almighty God says, "You will not see God hold similar views on things that people have, and moreover you will not see Him use men’s viewpoints, their knowledge, their science or their philosophy or man’s imagination to handle things. Instead, everything God does and everything He reveals is connected to truth. That is, every word He has said and every action He has taken concerns the truth. This truth is not some baseless fantasy; this truth and these words are expressed by God due to God’s substance and His life. Because these words and the substance of everything God has done are truth, we can say that God’s substance is holy. In other words, everything God says and does brings vitality and light to people; it allows people to see positive things and the reality of those positive things and it points humanity toward the road of light so that they may walk the right path. These things are determined because of God’s substance and they are determined due to the substance of His holiness."

The Word of God | Do You Know? God Has Done a Great Thing Among Men

The old age is gone, and the new age has come. Year after year and day after day, God has done much work. He came into the world and then in turn departed. Such a cycle has continued on through many generations. This day, God continues to do as before the work that He must, the work that He has yet to complete, for to this day He has yet to enter into rest. From the time of creation to this day, God has done much work, but did you know that the work God does this day is much more than before and the scale much greater? This is why I say that God has done a great thing among men. All of God’s work is very important, be it to man or to God, for every item of His work is related to man.

Questions and Answers on How to Differentiate Between the Work of God and the Work of Man: We believe that the Lord Jesus returns mainly to rapture His believers. He can’t possibly do the work of judgment in the last days to make overcomers. God raised up Brother Lin and used him. He has led us to be renewed, transformed, conformed, and glorified to become overcomers. When the Lord returns, our Local Church will be the first to be raptured. You testified that only God is capable of making overcomers. I want to ask: If we pursue according to the way led by Brother Lin, can’t we be made overcomers?

Answer: You said that Brother Lin’s path would make you into overcomers, that you only need to practice according to Brother Lin’s path to become overcomers, and that the Lord Jesus returns mainly to rapture believers into the kingdom of heaven and can’t possibly do the work of judgment in the last days to make overcomers. Do you have any biblical basis for this? Are there any prophecies where the Lord Jesus testified to this? Are there any prophecies where the Lord Jesus testified to this? Anyone who knows the Bible knows that God will make the overcomers before the disaster. In the last days, God becomes flesh to arrive in secret, expresses the truth and does the work of judgment beginning with God's house to make a group of overcomers. It’s just like the prophecy in Revelation: “And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write; These things said … Because you have kept the word of my patience, I also will keep you from the hour of temptation, which shall come on all the world, to try them that dwell on the earth. Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which you have, that no man take your crown. Him that overcomes will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write on him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from my God: and I will write on him my new name. He that has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit said to the churches” (Rev 3: 7, 10-13). “For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God” (1Pe 4: 17). The Bible prophesied what the Holy Spirit said to the churches, the rapture of the Philadelphia Church, that His judgment must begin with the house of God, etc. This is what the Lord Jesus will do when He returns. In the last days, God becomes flesh and arrives secretly in order to do the work of judgment beginning from God's house, to make a group of overcomers. Almighty God’s utterance, The Word Appears in the Flesh, this is what the Holy Spirit said to the churches, the hidden manna. Almighty God is God's new name. The Philadelphia Church attained God’s new name, and they were raptured before God’s throne. All who pray and call upon the name of Almighty God and eat and drink of Almighty God's words are raptured before God’s throne to be judged and purified by Almighty God’s words. In the end, they will attain the truth, overcome the influences of Satan, and God will gain and perfect them. These people are the true overcomers. It’s clear that God Himself will do the work of making overcomers in the last days. No one can replace Him.

The overcomers will be made in the last days, through God incarnate’s work of judgment beginning with the house of God. Not only is this prophesied in the Bible, but Almighty God also describes this very clearly. Let’s have a look at what Almighty God says.

English Christian Devotional Song With Lyrics | "The Way to Quieten Your Heart Before God"

Christian Praise Song | "The Way to Quieten Your Heart Before God"

Ways to quiet your heart before God
are to begin with ways of prayer.
Have a single mind, pray at a fixed time.
Even if busy, pressed for time, no matter what comes upon you,
daily pray as normal, eat and drink God’s words.
Prayer is where you should start from.
Peaceful prayer bears the best fruit.
Eat God’s words, imbibe, try obtaining light.
When you ponder over God’s words, the path to practice you should seek,
know where God’s words aim, and don’t deviate.
Draw God near to your heart and contemplate God’s love.
Ponder the words of God, block outside distractions.
Quieting your heart before God
is one of the most crucial steps for entering into God’s words.
All urgently need this lesson,
all urgently need this lesson.

I Finally Understand That Obeying Pastors Is Not Obeying God

By Shixing, Malaysia

“Take heed therefore to yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to feed the church of God” (Acts 20:28).

Pastors and elders frequently use this verse of Scripture to teach us that pastors are established by God, and that obeying our pastors is obeying God. Especially when I saw how my pastors were familiar with the Bible, how they labored and paid a price, and how they could devote their entire lives to the church, I felt that they were a worthy example to imitate, so I actively took part in serving the church and later became a church worker.

Gospel Music "Blessed Are Those Who Accept God's New Work" | Thank God for His Blessing

Gospel Music "Blessed Are Those Who Accept God's New Work" | Thank God for His Blessing (Lyrics)

All who obey the words now spoken
by the Holy Spirit are so blessed.
It doesn’t matter how they used to be,
or how the Holy Spirit worked in them.
Those who’ve gained His most recent work are most blessed.
Those who are unable to are eliminated.
Now this group of people,
who’ve accepted God’s newest work,
have been predestined before the ages
and are the most blessed of all.
You hear God’s voice directly, you behold His appearance.
So in heaven, earth, and through the ages,
none have been more blessed than you.

The Word of God | "Knowing the Three Stages of God's Work Is the Path to Knowing God" (Part Two)

Almighty God says, "The three stages of work are at the heart of God’s entire management, and in them are expressed the disposition of God and what He is. Those who do not know of the three stages of God’s work are incapable of realizing how God expresses His disposition, nor do they know the wisdom of God’s work, and they remain ignorant of the many ways in which He saves mankind, and His will for the whole of mankind. The three stages of work are the full expression of the work of saving mankind. Those who do not know the three stages of work will be ignorant of the various methods and principles of the Holy Spirit’s work; those who only rigidly stick to doctrine that remains from one stage of work are people who limit God to doctrine, and whose belief in God is vague and uncertain. Such people will never receive God’s salvation."

Why Did the Jews Yearn for the Coming of the Messiah yet Oppose Him When He Truly Came?

By Xia Wei

As we all know, the Jews were God’s chosen people, Israel was the birthplace of God’s work, the Old Testament predicted that the Messiah would lead the lives of the Israelites, and thus the Jews had eagerly yearned for the coming of the Messiah. But why was it that when the Messiah—the Lord Jesus—truly came to work, they didn’t accept Him, yet opposed Him and even crucified Him? This is what we will talk about today. May the Lord guide us.

Christian Gospel Song | "Obey the Work of the Spirit to Follow to the End"

Christian Gospel Song | "Obey the Work of the Spirit to Follow to the End"

The Holy Spirit’s work changes day to day,
higher step by step with greater revelations.
This is how God works to perfect mankind.
If man cannot keep up, he may be left behind.
Without a heart willing to obey,
he cannot follow through to the end.
Those who disobey by nature, oppose by will,
they will be left behind, as God’s work rushes on.
Only those who obey, gladly humble themselves
can progress to the end, to the end of the road.

Why There Are Different Christian Denominations?

By Zhou Tao

My Confusion

Several years ago, I was often out on business. At all of my stops, I would seek a meeting place on weekends, off my own bat, to share the Lord’s words and pray. But after some of the meetings, the church leaders would ask me, “Brother Zhou, which denomination do you belong to? What are the doctrines of your church?” I was always taken aback and would reply, “I believe in the Lord Jesus, and I don’t belong to any denomination. We all are family in Christ.” But they would answer, “Now there are many churches, but only our church is the true one, only our church encompasses all the others.” Later, what baffled me even more was that when I returned to my hometown church my church friends asked me what doctrines I’d heard in other churches. We got into quarrels over different understandings of Bible verses, and could never reach an agreement. Our meetings often ended bitterly. Many years passed, and no matter where I went, what impressed me was the multitude of denominations and how they were all critical of each other. Seeing this, I thought of the words in the Bible, “One Lord, one faith, one baptism, One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all” (Eph 4:5–6). We all believe in the Lord, read the Bible and the words of the Lord; why are there so many Christian denominations? What is the root of this? Which one is in line with the Lord’s will? Full of confusion and puzzlement, I eagerly wanted to find the answers.

Questions and Answers on the Inside Story of the Bible (6)

Question 6: Since Paul stated that “All scripture is given by inspiration of God,” it is not wrong, because he was an apostle of God. God was telling mankind through Paul that scriptures were all inspired by God and are all the word of God. Do you dare deny this?

Bible,The Church of Almighty God,Judgment, worship,Holy Spirit

Answer: This issue is highly representative. Next, let us communicate on whether these epistles written by Paul and other apostles were really inspired by God and whether they can represent the word of God. That way we will know how to treat these epistles of the apostles. Before we continue communicating, allow us to first read two passages of Almighty God’s word! Almighty God says, “And thus, the Pauline epistles of the New Testament are epistles that Paul wrote for the churches, and not inspirations from the Holy Spirit, nor are they the direct utterances of the Holy Spirit. They are merely words of exhortation, comfort, and encouragement that he wrote for the churches during the course of his work. So, too, are they a record of much of Paul’s work at the time. They were written for all of the brothers and sisters in the Lord, and were in order to make the brothers and sisters of all of the churches at the time follow his advice and abide by all of the ways of the Lord Jesus. By no means did Paul say that, be they the churches of that time or of the future, all must eat and drink the things of him, nor did he say that his words all came from God. According to the circumstances of the church at that time, he simply communed with the brothers and sisters, and exhorted them, and inspired belief in them; and he simply preached or reminded people and exhorted them. His words were based upon his own burden, and he supported the people through these words. … All he said that was edifying and positive to people was right, but it did not represent the utterances of the Holy Spirit, and he could not represent God. It is an egregious understanding, and a tremendous blasphemy, for people to treat the records of a man’s experiences and a man’s epistles as the words spoken by the Holy Spirit to the churches! … His identity was merely that of a working apostle, and he was merely an apostle who was sent by God; he was not a prophet, nor a foreteller. So to him, his own work and the lives of the brothers and sisters were of the utmost importance. Thus, he could not speak on behalf of the Holy Spirit. His words were not the words of the Holy Spirit, much less could they be said to be the words of God, for Paul was nothing more than a creature of God, and was certainly not the incarnation of God. … If people see the epistles or words like Paul’s as the utterances of the Holy Spirit, and worship them as God, then it can only be said that they are too indiscriminating. To speak more harshly, isn’t this nothing but blasphemy? How could a man talk on behalf of God? And how could people bow down before the records of his epistles and of the words he spoke as if they were a holy book, or a heavenly book? Could the words of God be casually uttered by a man? How could a man talk on behalf of God? And so, what say you—could the epistles that he wrote for the churches not be tainted with his own ideas? How could they not be tainted with human ideas? He wrote epistles for the churches based on his personal experiences and the extent of his own life. For instance, Paul wrote an epistle to the Galatian churches which contained a certain opinion, and Peter wrote another, which had another view. Which of them came from the Holy Spirit? No one can say for sure. Thus, it can only be said that they both bore a burden for the churches, yet their letters represent their stature, they represent their provision and support for the brothers and sisters, and their burden toward the churches, and they only represent human work; they were not entirely of the Holy Spirit. If you say that his epistles are the words of the Holy Spirit, then you are absurd, and you are committing blasphemy! The Pauline epistles and the other epistles of the New Testament are equivalent to the memoirs of the more recent spiritual figures. They are on a par with the books of Watchman Nee or the experiences of Lawrence, and so on. It’s simply that the books of recent spiritual figures are not compiled into the New Testament, yet the substance of these people is the same: They were people who were used by the Holy Spirit during a certain period, and they could not directly represent God.” (“Concerning the Bible (3)” in The Word Appears in the Flesh).

Questions and Answers on the Inside Story of the Bible (5)

Question 5: Paul said in 2 Timothy 3:16: “All scripture is given by inspiration of God….” This shows that everything in the Bible is the word of God. But there are actually people who say that not everything in the Bible is the word of God. Isn’t this denying the Bible and deceiving people?

the truth, life, the last days,Christ,The Church of Almighty God

Answer: About the viewpoint “All scripture is given by inspiration of God,” we must understand the context in which Paul said these words. At the time Paul wrote letters to Timothy's church there was only the Old Testament. The New Testament had not been formed yet and there were just dozens of epistles scattered around and kept by various churches. This shows that these words of Paul were referring to the Old Testament. The Israelites only regard the Old Testament as the Bible. The New Testament was not formed until after AD 300. Church leaders at the time held a meeting as they thought the last days were near, and that the utterances of Jesus and the epistles of the apostles should be brought together into a book, and distributed to the various churches like the Old Testament. Therefore, they compiled together the epistles written by Jesus' apostles and disciples, and following research and confirmation, selected 27 books to become the New Testament, which was later combined with the Old Testament to become the complete Bible. This is how the New and Old Testaments were formed. Further, regarding the formation of the Bible, we must also understand just who wrote it and who recorded it. The Bible has several dozen authors, but none of them said the epistles they wrote were inspired by God. if God had said all scripture is given by inspiration of God, then God should have said it via prophets, but the books of prophets contain no such words. The Lord Jesus has also never said such words. The apostles have also never said the epistles they wrote and their testimonies were all inspired by God, and moreover they did not dare to say they were God's words. This is fact! But later on, all believers in God think that all that God uttered is in the Bible, and that even though the New and Old Testament were written by men, they were both inspired by God. But have we ever thought about whether this conforms with the facts?

Gospel Movie Clip (3) - To Study the Lord's Return We Should Listen to the Voice of God

Basically all of the prophecies mentioned in the Bible pertaining to the Lord's return have already come true. Most people have sensed that the Lord has already returned, so, how should we investigate this to make sure about the matter of whether or not Almighty God is the returned Lord Jesus? Should we make our judgment based on the prophecies of the Bible or should we directly investigate the word and work of Almighty God? How should we seize this extremely rare opportunity and greet the return of our Lord? Almighty God says, "What you ought to do is acceptance of, without the need for further substantiation from the Bible, any work so long as it is that of the Holy Spirit, for you believe in God to follow God, not to investigate Him. You should not search out further proof for Me to show that I am your God. Rather, you ought to discern whether I am of benefit to you; that is the key" (The Word Appears in the Flesh).
